Paintings that are heavily inspired by my poetry, womanhood, nature and spirituality.
Vhudzijena, which means white hair, is the praise name of the Soko Mukanya totem clan, here evoked through the impression of a monkey. This work is a salutation to the Soko people, honouring ancestry and identity through totemic imagery. The painting affirms continuity between past and present, reminding us how lineage, praise poetry and visual art preserve cultural belonging.
