NZWISA: Solo exhibition by Samantha Rumbidzai Vazhure
I am delighted to present my debut solo exhibition, Nzwisa (“a taste”), with Pamoyo Gallery in Harare from 17 – 25 October 2025.
Featuring over 30 works, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the evolution of my visual language, from my beginnings as a self-taught painter in 2022, to an artist now preparing to pursue a Masters in Fine Art.
My paintings are rooted in storytelling, exploring ancestral memory, diasporic identity, African womanhood, and spiritual guardianship. Using acrylics, impasto, and dot techniques, I create textured surfaces inspired by the sacred landscapes of Zimbabwe and the Welsh countryside where I now live.
Curated by NAMA-winning Simphiwe Munyaradzi Moyo, Nzwisa is both a reflection of my personal journey into art and a celebration of heritage, freedom, and becoming.
